Popular Bollywood film actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh are her parents. Kareena Kapoor is her step-mother.
She made her acting debut with the film Kedarnath, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The film was released in December 2018.

Sara Ali Khan was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is the granddaughter of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who was a veteran Indian cricketer and Sharmila Tagore, one of the famous veteran Bollywood actresses.
In 2004, her father, Saif Ali Khan, and mother, Amrita Singh got divorced, after 13 years of their marriage. She has a sibling/brother Ibrahim Ali Khan and Step-brother Taimur Ali Khan.
Her father, Saif Ali Khan got married to the Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor on 16 October 2012.
There are rumors that she is dating Veer Pahariya, son of a businessman, Sanjay Pahariya. Sushil Kumar Shinde, who is a former Union Minister, is Veer Pahariya’s maternal grandfather.
