Riya Suman was born to a Sindhi business family. She had actively participated in many plays and drama activities in her school days.
She went to R.A.Podar College of Commerce & Economics, Matunga, Mumbai. There, she completed her graduation in Bachelor in Management Studies.

Career
In 2016, While pursuing her degree, Riya made her acting career debut with the Telugu movie “Majnu,” opposite Natural Star Nani, and Virinchi Varma directed the film. The movie got a positive response from the film audience.
She starred in Paper Boy, a Telugu movie, as soon as she finished her degree, which received a mixed response from both the audience and critics.
She made her film acting debut in Kollywood (Tamil Film Industry) with the film Seeru, along with Jiiva. Rathina Siva is directing the film & the Vels International films producing the movie. It is in the filming stage.
